This is without question one of my favorite magic history books. If you ever wondered what those famous magicians actually performed in their acts, here is the answer. Author Charles Waller of Melbourne, Australia combed through newspaper files and also spent a lifetime attending variety theaters throughout Australia. The result was a 500-page, handwritten manuscript describing performances that took place from the 1860s up through the 1940s. The original manuscript was rescued by Gerald Taylor and published in a limited edition in 1980. This is copy #756 of 1,000 copies and is signed by the publisher. 5.5 by 8.5 inches, hardbound with a dust jacket, in fine condition.
